Ron A. Rhoades, JD, CFP®, serves as the program director for the Western Kentucky University Personal Financial Planning Program, where he teaches courses in finance, retirement planning, estate planning, and investments. He is also an estate planning and tax attorney (Member, The Florida Bar), and he also serves select clients as an investment advisor and Certified Financial Planner™ through his firm, Scholar Financial.
Mr. Rhoades has served many professional organizations in various roles. He frequently visits Washington, D.C., to meet with policy makers on issues involving financial services regulation. He has served as a consultant to several financial services firms, often speaks at national and regional conferences, and he is frequently quoted in the national media. A “Thought Leader” at APViewpoint.com, in 2020 he received the Frankel Fiduciary Prize from The Institute for the Fiduciary Standard. He is also the recipient of the Gordon Ford College of Business Faculty 2020 Award for Teaching, the 2019 Vitale Award for Initiative, Innovation and Leadership, and the 2017 Public Service Award.
